Evidence Based Performance Coaching was started in 2015 by Jason VanEpps. It was about a year and a half in the making at that point. Our goal is to help people in all situations succeed with their fitness goals. Whether you are a physique competitor wanting to place better in your next show, or a stay at home mom who wants to lose some baby weight, we can help you get there as easily and efficiently as possible. We fully customize each program to the individual so we can find what works for them, not for others. Help us change the industry so that people can get the help they need, instead of generic programs that are only making the coaches money.

Our Coaches

Jason VanEpps

I'm Jason, the founder and head coach of Team EBP. I decided to get in shape after getting sick of being fat in June 2012, and by June 2013 had went from 285lbs or so to 180lbs. Since then I've focused on gaining muscle. I am completely self taught and specialize in nutrition, although I'm also very interested in programming, especially powerlifting, and PEDs. I have been coaching about 2.5 years, and have spent most of that time building my knowledge and gaining the respect of those I look up to in the industry, as that is very important to me.

Gavin McCort

My name is Gavin McCort. I haven’t been in this industry too long, but I’ve made it a goal of mine to learn as much about something in order to become a subject matter expert. My journey began about 9 years ago when I was a sophomore in HS. 5’9” 265lbs with a 41” waist. I was introduced to the gym by a friend and I was hooked, but I was also addicted to learning more. It wasn’t until 6 years later after nearly succumbing to a blood infect and having to lose weight in the same manner again, that I pieced a lot of what I learned together. In the time after I was fortunate to have been mentored by big names in the coaching world like Eric Helms and dr. Joe Klemczewski. After losing the weight I decided to embark on my 1st competition season. From July to September 2015 I competed in 3 shows, 1 in the NPC in physique and 2 in the NANBF in men’s bodybuilding, placing top 3 in all of my shows. It’s true you never stop learning and I still learn new things from my colleagues like Jason VanEpps. I am currently underway to begin my dietetics program at Kaiser University next year with an eventual goal of obtaining a CSCS(certified strength and conditioning specialist) and CSSD(Certified Sports Specialized Dietitian). As a natural bodybuilder myself, I specialize mostly in contest prep for natural athletes seeking to compete in physique oriented competition.

Jenny Goodwin

I'm Jenny. I battled anorexia/bulimia off and on for approximately 9 years. I then went from one disordered eating extreme to another and gained a significant amount of fat over the years — topping out at approx 212lbs. I was depressed and hated how I looked and felt due to poor eating habits, smoking, etc. Long story short, I quit smoking (after 22 years), I began reading articles and books on fat loss/nutrition/fitness by Lyle McDonald, Alan Aragon, Brad Schoenfeld, Will Brink, etc., I joined a gym, fell in love with weight training and started making small dietary changes over time. I enjoy working with the general population and believe in a simple approach to fat loss.
